What a ride!Had a great time on the Cycle Oregon "Wild Wheeled West" bicycle
ride.
After Cycle Oregon, Patrick and I headed for Spokane to visit Roger and Maryanne Bosky for a couple of days.
Had a great time, got a bike ride in, Roger and Maryanne each have a
Bike Friday.
a very cool folding bike. It fits into a small hard case suitcase that weights less than 50 lbs and can be checked as luggage.
I intend to purchase one early next year. Fun.
We left Spokane Monday morning and were back home in Northern California
late Tuesday night. Lots of driving.
Rosemary returned from her Italy trip the next day. Then on Saturday she went
to a University of Rhode Island (URI) clam bake outside of San Francisco, while I stayed home and had a very good bike. Best
I've felt in a long time.
After the ride decided the bird feeder in the patio needed refilling. Took out the small
step stool, got the bird feed in, lost my balance, cracked my ankle on both sides and broke the left tibia. Luckily my neighor
was home when I yelled for him. He called 911 and off I went to the Kaiser in Walnut Creek. Ended having surgery the next
day, 2 pins in the ankle and plate in the leg.
Now, eight weeks later I'm in a protective boot and can walk unassisted.
It's been quite a ride.
Return to the Doc next month, if all is well a couple weeks after that go back and he takes
the screws out of the ankle. Hope to be back on the bike early next year.
So that's my tale of woe, I'll still get
that
Bike Friday next year.
